Meditation is a well-documented technology that can remove stress and replace it with inner calmness and peace. This provides many benefits, including stress relief, sharper thinking and improved health, just to name a few.

Meditation is for everyone of all ages, backgrounds, cultures and belief systems and can be accomplished without the need for a natural setting, a special room, a candle or a special pose.

Throughout the ages, people from all cultures and walks of life have used meditation to balance or manage emotions, deal with physical and psychological distress, to heal and to forgive, to reach a higher state of consciousness or simply to promote the peace of the present moment. But many persons wanting to learn to meditate can find it difficult to accomplish without a teacher or guide. That is why guided meditations are often used by beginners and experienced meditations.

A guided meditations literally walk you through a meditation and helps you find a calm and peaceful state—one step at a time. Whether the guided meditation is live or recorded, the guide’s voice offers a step-by-step process through a meditative experience. If the meditator focuses on the guide’s voice and the imagery being created, it allows the busy or incessant ‘ego’ mind to subside or briefly disappear as it is substituted for the ‘guide’s’ voice, similar to ‘disappearing’ into a movie or good book. Being guided in meditation allows for an effortlessness that may be difficult to achieve on one’s own.

Guided meditations often have a specific purpose or theme, such as healing or self-improvement with goals such as creating prosperity, improving relationships, developing forgiveness or meeting a personal guardian angel or even a spirit animal. Others are more general, aimed at quieting the “monkey” mind and producing a state of deeper calmness and relaxation. Some are designed to evoke “higher states of consciousness” or to enliven various aspects of the human energy field, such as color or chakra meditations. Many guided meditations use imagery or the guided use of breath work or other techniques.
